The Cleopatra Mining Project is Red Flat Nickel Corporations effort to develop a nickel strip mine in the North Fork Smith River/Baldface Creek watershed. The approximately 2900 acres of contiguous federal mining claims involved are located in Oregon.

Nickel ore was discovered Nickel Mountain in 1865 by sheep herders. A mine was not opened until 1891 and not mined commercially until 1954.
The Onion Mountain Nickel Prospect is near Wilderville, Oregon. Historically the site has been associated with the Pickett Creek Mining District which is now part of the Siskiyou National Forest. Preliminary development has taken place such as surface trenching, adits, shafts, drill holes, geophysics, geochemistry, or geological mapping.
The Nickel Mountain Mine is near Riddle, Oregon. Historically the site has been part of the Riddle Mining District. The site was first discovered in 1864 by Sheepherders. The Nickel Mountain Mine is a surface mining operation. Initial production took place in 1882 and overall output was considered to be large size.
